Hartman/Friend Baby Shower-08.30.08

Yesterday, my two sisters, Kelli and Nanci and my mom, Barb threw a shower for Matt and I at the Roundhouse in Aurora. There were about 30 people in attendance including family and friends. It was so much fun! Baby Harper got so many nice gifts including a rainforest swing, several handmade blankets, some essential one piece outfits and a lot of jungle animals to play with!
So we are pretty much ready for the baby to come with the exceptoion of a couple of furniture pieces and a lot more clothing!

By the way, why don't you leave a comment of if you think Harper will be a boy or a girl?

This is Spinal Tap! (not the band)

I have a really patient husband. Last week, I found out I had to have a spinal tap to measure the pressure in my head (my optic nerves are swollen) and I freaked out! I have never had anything wrong with me and have never been in the hospital, so I automatically thought the worse of this procedure. I had nightmares and was in a cold sweat yesterday morning. Matt was brave enough to come in the room with me and be a support! Long story short, I had to have an anesthesiologist due the procedure and it ended up not being as bad as I thought it was going to be. I think a shot of Novocaine at the dentist's office is worse! Good news is that my brain pressure is normal! Yeah!

So now the fun part is sitting back and letting the doctor's decide what the heck they are going to do with me.

Thanks to Matt, Aimee and Jenn for dealing with my emotions this past week!

1st Shots of the Nursery...

We are busy over here....thanks for your help Erica!!! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Lundeen for the crib! It is gorgeous!

90 Days to Go-Update!

With 90 days to go until Harper arrives, we are tackling the nursery and all of the things that need to be assembled. The crib is the first big challenge; we have read all the directions and studied all the parts. We will post a picture when it is finished.

Last night at the Neri "Wopstock" Family reunion, I realized that not everyone may know what has been going on with me this summer. Let me start off by saying that Harper is fine and healthy as we far as we know and have no need for concern.

Back in May, the optometrist at Pearle Vision took pictures of my optic nerves (the nerve that runs from my eyes to my brain) and found that the left one was swollen. He mentioned a condition called psuedotumor cerebri. He let my OB know of the condition and then she referred me to the opthomalogist. He looked closer at my eyes and saw that both optic nerves were swollen. He then referred me to a neurologist. The neurologist then did some simple sensory tests on me, which I passed all of them. The next step was then to have an MRI and a spinal tap. The MRI was clear and now it is on to the spinal tap. Needless to say, I am extremely nervous to have this proceedure done but I guess it will prep for labor early! All of this is to make sure that the right decisions are made for labor and delivery for Harper and me. I hope to know what the outcome will be by the end of August.

Matthew and I have baby showers on August 30th (PenningtonFamily) and October 5th (Lundeen Family). We can't wait to figure out all of this baby stuff!!
